Roles and permissions control what each staff member can see and do in Modeve POS. Assigning the correct role helps protect sensitive information and prevents unauthorised actions.
Modeve POS typically supports different permission levels, such as:
Role | Typical Access |
|---|---|
Cashier | Create sales, accept payments, view basic receipts |
Supervisor | All Cashier permissions + apply discounts, void/refund, adjust stock |
Administrator | Full access, including staff management, reports, and settings |
The exact role names and permissions may vary slightly depending on your account setup.
Go to the Staff or Staff Management section.
Find the staff member you want to update.
Tap the staff member to open their details.
Tap Edit.
Select the appropriate Role or adjust individual permissions if available.
Tap Save.
The new permissions will take effect the next time the staff member logs in.
Depending on the role, permissions may include the ability to:
Create and complete sales
Apply discounts
Void or refund transactions
Adjust stock quantities
View reports
Add or edit products
Manage other staff members
Access system settings
Only grant higher-level permissions to trusted staff.
Only administrators can usually change staff roles and permissions.
Review permissions carefully before saving.
If a staff member cannot perform a certain action, check whether their role allows it.
For security, avoid giving administrator access to too many people.
Proper role settings help keep your shop operations secure and organised.
